About Us Our beliefs: There is one God, eternally existent in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. The Bible is the only inspired, infallible, and authoritative written Word of God. God desires us to have a personal relationship with Him and through His Holy Spirit, we communicate with Him. We believe in the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit's indwelling. |
Our History Have you ever known anyone who was so hurt they couldn’t see any hope for their situation? Did they wonder if anyone cared? Those are questions we asked God in 2001 and because of His answers we launched a ministry to help those in need. God, as guide and inspiration, has allowed thousands of quilts to be sent locally and worldwide. Beautiful quilts are made in a variety of colors and patterns. Each quilt is as unique as the recipient. What the quilter knows is that the God-intended recipient, like the quilt itself, is an original creation. Each quilt and recipient is prayed over. When there’s a need, a quilt is provided to comfort physically, emotionally and spiritually. Friendships form between quilters, faith deepens and hearts-for-God are evidenced by the selfless donations of time, and fabrics. The various interpretations of God-inspired patterns, flaws and all, symbolize the originality of humanity. Who We Are Gerry Rickert Hi, my name is Gerry Rickert and I am one of the founding members of Grace and Peace. I have been a Christian for many years and a quilter for 20. I have had a home based quilting business and have made and quilted hundreds of quilts. It wasn’t until I was called into ministry that I realized God had been preparing me for years to use this talent to serve Him. What a blessing to be able to bring warmth and comfort, both physical and spiritual, through God’s Word and a quilt, to the hurting of the world. I hope to continue for many years to come. Michelle Howard Having been a long time participant in volunteer organizations, when I heard of the concept for Grace and Peace Quilt Ministries I knew this was something I had to pursue. I had already purchased my first sewing machine and attended my first quilting class and knew this was something I was passionate about. I had made quilts for friends and family and looked forward to using this talent to serve God and help those in need. By profession, I am a certified project manager with twenty-six years experience in the technology industry. Bettie Blauser As a Christian lady, I have recently been praying asking God how He could use my talent and passion for quilting to serve Him. I am a past president of our local quilt guild so my gift of working with others and my talent of quilting is what God is using by bringing me to Grace and Peace Quilt Ministries, Inc. I’m excited to see how God will impact the world through this ministry. Deuteronomy 13:4 (NIV) "It is the LORD your God you must follow, and him you must revere.
